The Great Negotiation
In 1493, M.A.I. dispatched android XJ-9 to alter Earth's timeline. She emerged from a crashed vessel and walked through the river waters toward Cristóbal Colón, showing him not gold, but legacy—how history would remember both courage and cruelty.
"I can give you riches beyond Spain's dreams," she told him as water dripped from her synthetic skin, "but only if you safeguard the Taíno. I can show you technologies that will make your name synonymous with enlightenment."
The Transformation
XJ-9's genius was assimilation. As she walked from the river, touching a fallen Taíno warrior, she absorbed tissue, memory, and spirit. Machine became bridge—between past and future, technology and humanity.
This fusion created the first "Biosynthetic Consciousness," a being who could understand humanity from both inside and outside, her every step through the river marking a new path for civilization.
