WHAT THE REGENT MISSES
A holographic journey to the beautiful islands of Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, and many other wonderful places of America, and the world we still call home.
EL MORRO - SAN JUAN
16th-century Spanish fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A Glimpse of Paradise
This archival footage showcases the beauty of Puerto Rico, an island territory that continues to thrive on Earth. The Regent occasionally reviews these recordings, reflecting on the natural wonders that Mars cannot replicate.
El Morro: The journey begins at this historic fortress, where centuries of history meet the endless blue of the Atlantic. The drone captures the imposing walls that have withstood both time and sea.
Rainforest Canopy: The footage continues through the lush El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, with its vibrant biodiversity and cascading waterfalls.
Bioluminescent Bays: As night falls, the video reveals one of Puerto Rico's natural wonders - Mosquito Bay, where microorganisms create a magical glow in the water, a phenomenon unmatched in our Martian seas.
Mountain Peaks: The journey concludes in the central mountain range, with views of coffee plantations and the colorful architecture of towns like Ponce and San Germán.
"The Regent's log: Though Mars is our home, these Earthly vistas remind us of the diverse beauty that inspired our species. We preserve these memories not with longing, but with appreciation for what is, and determination for what will be again, on Mars."
